L’aumento di frequenza e intensità dei disastri naturali, amplificato da cambiamenti climatici, instabilità geopolitica e crescente complessità dei sistemi urbani, ha posto la governance postdisastro al centro del dibattito scientifico e delle politiche pubbliche. Pur esistendo un ampio corpus di studi in varie discipline, dal public management alle scienze ambientali, dalla scienza politica alla pianificazione urbana, manca ancora una sistematizzazione complessiva e integrata. Questo lavoro colma tale lacuna tramite un’analisi bibliometrica di 305 contributi indicizzati in Web of Science (1993–2025). Utilizzando lo strumento Bibliometrix in R, lo studio analizza le strutture intellettuali, sociali e concettuali che configurano il campo della governance post-disastro. Mappando evoluzione storica e contorni attuali del campo, il lavoro offre una base strutturata per future ricerche e un quadro analitico a supporto dei decisori pubblici nei processi post-disastro.
The growing frequency and severity of natural hazards, driven by climate change, geopolitical instability, and increasingly complex urban systems, have brought post-disaster governance to the centre of policy and academic debate. Yet, despite extensive interdisciplinary research, an integrated, longitudinal mapping of the field that combines its intellectual, social and conceptual structures is still limited. This article addresses that gap through a systematic bibliometric analysis of 305 publications indexed in the Web of Science database from 1993 to 2025. Using the Bibliometrix R package, it examines the intellectual, social, and conceptual structures of post-disaster governance research. The analysis documents a sequence of three dominant conceptual frames, management, resilience, climate change, and traces a non-linear trajectory of the politics cluster across the three sub-periods considered. On this basis, the article proposes a structured reading of how the field has been reshaped over time and offers a descriptive overview that may be of interest to scholars and, more cautiously, to public decision-makers engaged in post-disaster processes.
